Re: neofetch LinuxBBQ

btw trouble is that every dist-upgrade that pulls in a new systemd or lsb-release will overwrite the edits in /etc/os-release and /usr/lib/os-release

I'm okay if it's shown as Debian sid, after all it is nothing else than a frankenstein siduction :D

Re: neofetch LinuxBBQ

With Bacon's approval/permission, I'd like to submit FINAL Product to neofetch. We seem to be one of the only "distro's" not represented in there :/ I figured add a line like: #Code submitted by the MEAT Collective for everyone else's effort who always has to fix my complete lack of under...

Re: Why BBQ?

And by the way, most of us (at least a few) don't really care about the base distro. You know that the biggest difference between distributions is the package manager. All Linux are more or less the same under the hood. Distrohopping is just an illusion.

Re: Why BBQ?

I do have a bunch of BBQ roast ideas in my head for interesting spins, but I don't have the knowledge yet to actually make any of them. I'm not concerned with credit, so if anyone is bored and want's to make some spins, I'll dig up my list. I can at least GIMPshop backgrounds (and icons if needed),...

Re: App Store

Though as Bacon mentioned Kiwi I should give it a look because the worst thing with Chrome are all the ads it serves me. I miss uBlock. It is the only extension I need on Android. It even has a native "hide annoying ads" switch that already filters out a bunch of shit. ublock takes care o...

Also see https://stackoverflow.com/questions/9838385/replace-of-xkeycodetokeysym https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=117210 So if you add #include <X11/XKBlib.h> and Change the XKeycodeToKeysym(display_, key_code, 0); to XkbKeycodeToKeysym(display_, key_code, 0, 0) you should get r...

Re: Fn+ function shortcuts 2wm

The make errors are harmless. Deprecated is just another term for outdated, but usually stuff should still be backward compatible. Amixer is installed with aplay and called by many GUI mixers, too. Alsamixer is one of its frontends. You can run the command in terminal and see/hear what happens. The ...

Re: Fn+ function shortcuts 2wm

Hi, I might be wrong, but .cmd = "XF86AudioRaiseVolume" is not a command to spawn. Try something like /* modifier key function argument */ \ { 0, 0x1008ff13, spawn, \ { .cmd = "amixer set PCM 10%+" } }, \ { 0, 0x1008ff11, spawn, \ { .cmd = "amixer set PCM 10%-" } }, \ J...

Re: Windows 7 + LinuxBBQ dual-boot

Hello, are you really sure you want to install LinuxBBQ and not BBQ Linux? Two different things ;) Usually, I'd say LinuxBBQ (we, here) are not exactly the Linux distro that attracts people who runs Win7 and tried Ubuntu :D But yeah, the answers: - there's no need for swap anymore, of course you *ca...
