Re: Lecture on Windowmanagers - which ones shall I show?
@MB - will do :-) I'll take my own laptop. The best Murphy-proof plan would be to have a all WMs at hand, AND make a screencast before and post that on Youtube. As a Plan B.

Re: Lecture on Windowmanagers - which ones shall I show?
@dkeg - I'll make a screencast, you have convinced me. I'll post the screencast before or after the class... I think we have all experienced problems like crashing apps, failing disks, missing cables, and so on during a live presentation. Murphy's Law....

Re: Lecture on Windowmanagers - which ones shall I show?
@rho - LOL.
@gutterz - yeah, the safest way of course would be to make a screencast....but that would be cheating.

Is there a webviewer for the linuxbbq repos?
Is there a webviewer for the own linuxbbq repos? I mean, just like you can see the packages in http://packages.debian.org/unstable/ or http://packages.siduction.org/ or, outside of the Debian world: https://packages.gentoo.org/ and https://www.archlinux.org/packages/ Of course the package manager wi...

Re: I want to play a game.
LOL :-) I score only 4 points..... BTW, what do you mean by "requires source for one of top 5 favorite wm's" ? You mean that the top 5 wm's that you use are all based on code that you must edit and recompile to change things? I miss: "Has used his system to compile programs for other ...

Re: Lecture on Windowmanagers - which ones shall I show?
Thanks debianjoe, gekkop, gutterslob, ivanovnegro, kexolino, machinebacon, rhowald, wuxmedia. Lots of great points! - I'll be a guest lecturer for those industrial design students. You know, hipsters who use 3D programs on their MacBooks... :-) Just kidding.... a colleague of mine works there, he te...

Re: Lecture on Windowmanagers - which ones shall I show?
Thanks, and keep 'm coming. regaring compiz, funny, I was thinking the same. Full featured could be the KDE DE, or Ubuntu w/ Compiz Fusion. I myself have a love/hate affair with eye candy. When I see it, I think "wow, I want that!" but when I use it, it gets old *very* quick. Like, in 5 mi...

Lecture on Windowmanagers - which ones shall I show?
Gang I'd like your input. I am invited to give a guest lecture for industrial design students on WINDOW MANAGERS. The goal is to show them different approaches (WIMP versus keyboard driven; full featured versus minimalistic; etc.). Sort of "eye open lesson" for these design people. A lesso...

WMChooser, how to edit, plus no-X?
Hi, where do I find instructions on how to change the Windowmanagerchooser? I want to add / delete options. Like: choosing between OpenBox, bspwm and i3wm. Second question: if the wmchooser starts, this is still without X, right? Is it possible to set the chooser up in such a way that you have a &qu...

OK, throw me on the grill for asking a dumb question - is the package removed or is it an orphan waiting for a new maintainer - or for someone to fork it?

Re: my mums website what I made
Yeah, Opera is nice. I've used it since very long on the PC, including their weird but nice email client (now gone). I'll check out the site tonight on my tablet. I may have seen the FB logo, it's just that I also like to see an email address, call me old skool ;-) But again (I'm a marketing teacher...

Re: my mums website what I made
Hello Wux, I checked the website on my Galaxy Tab 7.7, 3 days ago. Opera browser. When I scrolled down, the menu bar moved down as well (I mean the whole bar). The galery pics are good. I can't say anything about the colours used in the website, you should use the colours that the owner (you mom) li...
