Re: Cubic vs xyz?

Lmao Wux, Havent gotten around to playing w congestion control algos yet. Think it is cool the kickbutt folks in upper geekdom have made it easy to switch between the things. Were only a couple that looked interesting and guess could see a poss benefit. Like switching algos when someone changes netw...

Thanks sir Ivan, info on this topic is pretty sparse. According to Arch wiki, microcode comes with the linux-firmware package default.

Where do you guys stand on upgrading amd/Intel microcode?

Yep title pretty much covers it. Like many things tech have read now and then about the topic of upgrading the cpu(s) microcode, also like many things tech just couldn't work up enough interest to run down a definitive answer about it. Was recently dorking around and went ahead and installed the lat...

Cubic vs xyz?

For a long time now Nix kernels have had pluggable congestion control algorhythims. In many distros several alternatives come as loadable modules and can set via editing the /etc/sysctl.conf file. While cubic's the chosen default was wondering if any of the cool nixers here have played around with t...

Re: Creating a multiboot usb drive and Misc.

Sorry, hadn't seen this.

USB persistence really isn't my thing, so didn't get very far into it. However would look into Easy2boot if inclined.

Re: Runit anyone? :)

From feedback and what not, gather nobody's done much dorking w runit, no worries already compiled a bunch of resources. Could be interesting if works as advertised. Void is said to be solid/stable if using it default says something about the init. Replacing core-utils w busybox and related experime...

Runit anyone? :)

Anyone played around with runit? An alternative init, supposed to be tiny and seen some boot time comparison tests which were done on several types of hardware where it beat out systemd. Not by much but apparently did. Nor that fast boot matters all that much to geeks who could spend days between re...

Re: ✞ Obituary ✞

No worries Mb, however when you go there will be a void in the Nixsphere. Am sure there are plenty of great celebs regardless and plenty that are mega-league buttholez too, shrugs. Babble edit: Celebs are people too, when someone cuts them, do they not bleed? And put their pants on one leg at a time...

Re: Creating a multiboot usb drive and Misc.

Random babble update, wondering if anyone here has used a multi-boot utility called Easy2boot? If so what you thought about it? In other news, the lmde install long been overwritten. Pretty much as per Mb's thoughts, custom Debian accept no substitutes. Kali... hit the easy button and made a vm to d...
