Has anyone seen this; https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6987760/
Title and description implies masterpiece material.
There was a time when one day of the week was for bad movies just for the laughs. The "bad meaning good" was this for me. Then I found better ways to spend the evenings. :)

Re: Movies, Flicks, Films, Videos, cinematography

The Insider I don't think there is a single Michael Mann's I dislike, but having this finally on Blu-ray is beyond amazing. The Blu-ray disc is region free, but the cost for the US import was, well, let's just say I won't be ordering pizza for a couple of weeks. Who cares, I wouldn't be a collector...

Re: Something to celebrate? Do it here!

well, they changed the vim defaults and I am still not happy. There is a conf file that we d/l as part of the provisioning process here. well this RFC has been around for 20 years, and two CC headers is just silly. but adding more that one address in the To: field is also an RFC no-no, but still ge...

^ On that RMS note. Recently he's been at the centre of heated discussions on the Emacs development mailing list. I am not following everything, but on the surface it looks like the old "I've been using Emacs for 241 years and I speak in Elisp to my bearded friends, but why are you changing defaults...

Pizza and beer to celebrate here. What more can I want?

Enjoy the end and the new beginning, people. Don't do crazy things. Or do them and rock on.

Re: TV series

I have been actually watching it for old time sake. Well, it's not *that* bad, and I can understand why it kept us all together at the dinner table back in the day. Some episodes are poorly written, some reveal their influences (e.g., McTiernan and Carpenter) blatantly, the action is so-and-so most...

Re: Have you tried turning it off and on again?

The quick 'n dirty solution would be something on top of nodejs, I guess, to handle both client-side and server-side with JavaScript. The way I do single-page applications these days is far from quick and deep into strata of dirt.

^ I caught him the last time he was at Venice Film Festival, but I wasn't able to interview him unfortunately. My journalist powers weren't that strong. But I do remember people insulting him and his film during the screening for the violence in it. Fun times.

Re: Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Are you looking for a single-page application? "All on the web" makes me think of a single-page application with a button and JavaScript doing the XHR thing to call the server-side code which writes on the database.

After Tommaso, I finally watched Siberia, two of the most recent Abel Ferrara's efforts.

As much as I love this director, I have to say these didn't really hit me as I was expecting.

Re: Movies, Flicks, Films, Videos, cinematography

Got Manhunter on Blu-ray as a kind of Christmas present for myself. The UK version I got has both the theatrical cut and the director's one, so I'm happy. Also, a couple of minutes of this film are worth the entire Hannibal series, and in terms of comparison with The Silence of the Lambs the older I...

Re: BOOK! (Hardcopy edition)

While I'd really like to know how hard translating Gadda in another language could be, I have to pick what will be my last book of this 2020. Three choices: - The Man Without Qualities (Robert Musil) - The Brothers Karamazov (Fyodor Dostoevsky) - After Virtue (Alasdair MacIntyre) I think Dostoevsky ...
