seems good on stable. will stay here for a few days to make sure hardware ok then reinstall with sid . . . another scrot you say? . . . well it looks just like above except am now monitoring some wireless data in conky too.

Well, picked the laptop up yesterday and started stuffing around with a net install usb and ended up with this . . . it's openbox I'm afraid . . . pretty impressed with this little laptop. Yes I'll give that a try. I just realised that this thing doesn't have a touchpad, but one of those silly clitorus things which I don't like using - so a tiler makes a lot of sense. I encountered this colour thing on one of my pcs. All are running Bakewell (64bit). All are up-to-date, nothing held, hasn't recurred. As stated in the link Ivan posted, I fixed this with the bbq tools provided on a live bakewell usb. i.e. in terminal - bbq - fix your system (bbq hospital) - repair ...
