Re: X broken with ati (open drivers)
Okay, I'll try. Thanks! I even switched to systemd already, openrc had couple of annoying bugs. Also, sorry machinebacon for not listening to you the first time, I really thought my problem wasn't related. The mess came, when I didn't have the proper versions in archive folder. Apparently the debs f...

Re: X broken with ati (open drivers)
As I said, my desktop had an uptime of couple weeks, so I've upgraded massive amount of packages since last X restart, so I have no idea what it was that broke it exactly. I tried downgrading X, mainly xserver-xorg-core and it's million dependencies, but to no avail. Makes an enormous mess, that. Tr...

Re: X broken with ati (open drivers)
I did, but I was quite sure my problem wasn't related. I guess I'll try downgrading some packages. To clarify, I was on openrc. And 64bit kernel. And after one hell of downgrading, no dice. I'm still not convinced I have the same problem, as I had nothing to do with logind. Well, I guess I'll just h...

SOLVED: X broken with ati (open drivers)
I'm at my wits end. Some upgrade, or at least so I think, broke X. Cannot startx as user, but with sudo it does work, perfectly. Haven't rebooted in weeks before today, so the culprit will be as elusive as Bigfoot. I have HD5450 for what it's worth. Open sauce drivers for it. Here's the tail of xorg...

Re: backdropper
Boredom led to: - support for moc as player - mpd got fixed in sid today, so there's that now If player is mpd one needs mpc too for this to work. (Ncmpcpp has the much needed execute on song change, don't know about other clients) Moc at least is pretty much self supportive. Also, added the script ...

Re: backdropper
Here you go, a (slightly) new version. Now if $usebd="no", it uses only $genericbd for the background image. E: Changed the default variables to match ones from previous post. Also, if you wonder the few Finnish words it's cause I've often used them as no (programming) language has them re...

Re: backdropper
^ Easily. And as one can see, it uses generic_backdrop.jpg for every artist glyrc can't find one for, so basically just commenting out the glyrc backdrops -line it could be used with a static wallpaper. (In this particular case on the condition the currently playing artist doesn't have a backdrop im...

^Yes, imagemagick composite is run every time album changes.

So, mpd being broken in sid repos I reverted back to my old favourite cmus. Having purged myself a while ago from the bloatness of conky I now had no album art visible anywhere. Decided to make something out of the cmus's status_display_program, so I made this little script. It downloads (glyrc) bac...

^ Google hasn't released an API for it (after they moved from XMPP), so nothing other than official clients are available, for now, and I'd guess for a long time, if not forever.
I use my phone, though.

Re: TV series
^ If you mean the crime drama with David Tennant, I have to mention the british original, called Broadchurch, which is even better. It also just finished a second season, which Gracepoint will most propably never get.
