Re: Amazing Things Done By Linux

Ubuntu Touch is looking pretty damned good, but exactly what you said. It's surely not ready. I meant a *REAL* Linux environment, like TAILS or Kali. Just live boots, I've thought about Noobuntu though. I've seen Kali on an iPod Touch, not sure how it's done though.

Re: Amazing Things Done By Linux

I was blocked by the system filter here for "Humor/Jokes" on the potato, but that badger shit was pro-tier. I found a distro geared for a PlayStation2 and while I don't currently own one, I'm considering hitting the local pawn shop up. I'm wanting to root my Samsun Note 3 so I can run Linu...

Amazing Things Done By Linux

Today, I used Red Hat Enterprise Linux to start the rotation of an ASR/SSR radar. It was awesome. What did you do?

Re: YAIT (Yet Another Introduction Thread)

@rhhowaldt I will, thanks! @machinebacon Niiiice, I've yet to have anything that nice. I did own a Dean Razorback, green and yellow, though. $1600 new, I picked it up for 5. @ChefIronBelly I love the Carvins. A buddy I was in a band with in '11 used one for our chill time and while it didn't play gr...

Re: YAIT (Yet Another Introduction Thread)

At home, I play a Gibson SG. Where I'm at now, I play whatever I can get my hands on. I bought a BC Rich Warlock >>bronze<< for $100 a few weekends ago, and it's not so bad. I'm going to try Ubuntu Studio for it tonight, I couldn't stand to leave W8.1 on my desktop any longer. #! Waldorf is back on ...

Re: Your preferred text editor and terminal?

Now I believe I see the big deal with Emacs. Gonna give it a shot when I run out of things to do, see if it's for me. I've asked this because I'm trying things, seeing exactly what fits me.

Your preferred text editor and terminal?

I've noticed a high preference to one editor or another, etc. I'm using LeafPad and Terminator. What would you recommend and why?

Re: YAIT (Yet Another Introduction Thread)

@GekkoP I actually just grabbed it yesterday. I've only recently found LBBQ. I downloaded at least 5GB in LBBQ distros. @DebianJoe Haha thanks. Funny how Kali says, actually, I'll quote verbatim... "Any additional repositories added to the Kali sources.list file will most likely BREAK YOUR KALI...

YAIT (Yet Another Introduction Thread)

From my profile picture it shouldn't be hard to tell what my lifestyle is. I'm an air traffic controller in the US Army with an extreme affinity for IT. Tried to get an IT related job in the military when I enlisted, but I have a GED. Did you know that if you have a GED without college credits, you ...

Re: JWM: Chicken Wings (i686) Release News

Thanks all. It's a learning curve from CrunchBang but it's one I'm excited to deal with. From Kali to LXLE to #! to BBQ, the graphical user interfaces have quickly faded away.

Absolutely loving CW. A buddy turned me on to it the last weekend and I was astounded. Idling 45MB :O.
