Re: Screenshots
Is this your desktop ? Well, it's the BBQ "Proof" release running on one of my test machines, so I guess it's one of my desktops. :) It's easy to get that transparent effect using the Xfce compositor. Just select "Window Manager Tweaks" from the main menu and then adjust the tra...

Re: Screenshots
Hehe Pidsley, I know oh I know, I have given up on it tbh :) but.. I do really like the bit about it, that we can do what ever we want in that WM. Maybe too much choice in this case , does not work. It confuses and un-focuses people too much, I think to use it properly, a person needs to be very di...

Re: Screenshots
You can fade any terminal to almost transparent if you configure it correctly.simginBBQs wrote: I love the background window ( non focused one) almost faded to nothing, brilliant :)
fvwm can do almost anything, but you can spend hours, or days, or weeks, configuring it :)

Re: Screenshots
Is that Fvwm ? :) No, it's wm2. A very simple stacking window manager, and about as far from fvwm as you can get -- it can only be reconfigured by rebuilding. :) It's in the repo if you want to try it, and you can read more about it in the wiki: http://linuxbbq.org/wiki/index.php?title=Wm2 Or did y...

Re: LinuxBBQ XFCE4 “Proof” (i686)
yes, my home networks have a few Windows machines and family members need them to access network... i guess i need lots of support on samba. :( Well, some of the steps are still the same. You can still set the machine up to autologin to a console. You can still set up ssh so you can control it from...

We must. You're bloated.rhowaldt wrote:@bacon: well, i must say that your Proof is indisputable. however, i still know and love Openbox too much to switch over to XFCE. so call me bloated, if you must :D

Re: framebuffer shenanigans Virgin hp evectra
Last chance wux, does the machine have any open expansion slots? PCI VGA cards are super cheap. Plus you could add a little more memory when you have it open.
But really, I think you like whining about your ancient machine... :)
