Re: brightness control- LXDE
I cheered a tad to fast obviously. After issuing chmod 777 /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:01.0/drm/card0/card0-LVDS-1/radeon_bl0/brightness I'm able to control brightness with the keys. BUT my computer seems to forget the chmod command after reboot. Is there any way to make this persistent ? EDIT: ...

Re: brightness control- LXDE
xbacklight couldn´t find any devices and redshift doesn´ t come with any real documentation BUT
(sudo echo 100) > /sys/class/backlight/radeon_bl0/brightness
works.
(sudo echo 100) > /sys/class/backlight/radeon_bl0/brightness
works.

[solved] brightness control- LXDE
I promise this is the last question ;-). I will have the perfect distro installed afterwards. I am able to control screen brightness with commands like root@hp655:/usr/bin# echo 50 > /sys/class/backlight/radeon_bl0/brightness However i need root access to do so. Is there any way to bind my keys to a...

Re: Controlling sound in LXDE (Enough)
Ok, i have sound when playing MP3 in MPlayer (i even am able to control loudness within MPLayer) but none when i run a Flash-video. Installing Xfce-Mixer didn't help. That one only finds a OSS-HDMI-port which it refuses to control in any way. As mentioned before, i can add as many Mixer to the panel...

Re: Touchpad on Dell Latitude d520
Well, if it had worked in *buntu but not with BBQ, it might simply be misconfigured OR the newer packages in BBQ might be the cause of trouble. That's why i like to check with *buntu. If something works there, there is has to be a solution somewhere so i just look at the config files and if these ar...

Don't use windows to try if you're not sure it worked before. Use one of the *buntus.

Re: Controlling sound in LXDE (Enough)
Ich bin weit davon entfernt, alles zu wissen und für die Hilfe wirklich dankbar. Sound ist zurück (ich habe den HDMI-Ausgang gemutet). Den Rest werde ich auch irgendwie hinbekommen. Denke ich.
Should i blacklist HDMI ?

I don't have a mixer in the panel and i am unable to add the volume icon. It just doesn't show. And since i am on battery sound is totally gone, too. I am not that dumb, you know. I am able to add a volume icon if possible ;-)

[SOLVED]Controlling sound in LXDE (Enough)
While sound is working, there seems to be no way to control it on my laptop. I can't toggle loudness, because i neither have any mixer, nor does altering the sound level in MPlayer change anything. When i plug in my headphones, sound output remains unchanged (sound comes from the headphones, too, th...
