Re: Favorite browser extensions/plugins

Besides this neat Roaster browser (which I haven't really touched, yet) the only browsers I have used previously are the Tor browser (reconfigured FF) and Opera. I only used private windows in Opera, and the Tor browser usually comes with NoScript and Https Everywhere already installed. I usually ju...

Re: Favorite browser

you could try ins flashplugin-nonfree I didn't think I had it installed on this set up, but I do. I haven't used roaster in some time. I mainly use vimb. Thanks! I had actually installed it thanks to a tutorial on the wiki, but I crash/burned and had to reinstall. Forgot to do that with this one . ...

Re: Favorite browser

I went to the music section of the forums and found out that I have a missing plugin. It might also be html5 that I am missing. I have vlc installed, and I noticed in the Sid package list there was a browser plugin. That could be all that I need. This is usually where I get into trouble. I am missin...

Re: Favorite browser

I have been using the Roaster Browser, and I like it! I just need to add some plugins that seem to be missing- probably Flash, though not sure.

Thanks for that link, Wuxmedia. I know what I am going to do with the partitions that old Linux Mint Debian Edition is sitting on!

Re: TTY Machine

Adipositas sounds pretty interesting! I'm gonna give it a spin around the old block dev! I've seen you mention it in a few other posts as well. Something new to do! I really do have to thank you guys for giving me the inspiration to try something different.

Re: TTY Machine

Time to get embarrassed. I have no idea what to do with a tty. If I accidentally end up there, I am looking at that screen like a deer in the headlights of an oncoming semi. Ditto on the fb. I will sometimes click on the framebuffer session just to gaze at the screen in awe, just wondering at the ma...

Re: Distortion Pedal (Metal Corner)

I am missing a plugin :( I played guitar and sang in a band called Arson back in the 80's. We did a battle of the bands deal in Texarkana,TX with another band from my town called Mantis. We all got our clocks cleaned by this new band out of Dallas called Pantera, lols. Back then they were doing Juda...

Re: Why did Linux pick you? And why did Sid?

Suse! I had a 500gb hd strictly for personal (pics, vids, music, music,MUSIC!) I did an install of Suse and it kept wanting to install on THAT drive! I kept going back, going back (just to make sure), I thought I had it licked, clicked to continue the install, and lost everything! And it wouldn't even...

Re: Why did Linux pick you? And why did Sid?

I was broke, in need of my interwebs fix, and out of blue screens. Red Hat and Mandrake came first, but they both turned commercial, so it was off to Debian. Debian was hard to freaking install and configure- especially on the old used junk that I ran, but it was also more exciting to me because of ...

Re: Debconf probs

Most of the time I have no idea what I am doing, which is sad because I have been an exclusive Linux user for the last twelve years. But I just keep plugging away at it! And BBQ is like a breath of fresh air! I've played with Fluxbox and Icewm in the past, but I have really been missing out on the f...

This worked perfectly wget -c http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/d/debconf/debconf_1.5.58_all.deb && sudo dpkg -i debconf_1.5.58_all.deb I ran an install of hedgewars- which was utter failure under the borked DebConf- and the install was smooth as silk, with the exception of these las...

Thanks, again! One of these days I will try to actually learn one of these languages, but, you know, old dogs...new tricks....When I was in college, the most avanced stuff around was Fortran and COBOL. I had problems with BASIC!

Re: Debconf probs

Thanks! You are a lifesaver! I will try to clean it up, first. Then- if that fails- the other. I am sorry about the late reply. Re: Debconf probs

and NOW I see it wasn't muffin. I tried to install the Debian desktop base_ which I must say had to be a very pointy-hat moment- and tada! I was wrong about the whole darned thing!
I guess I do need to reinstall, because trying to uninstall that will probably just deal the death , anyway.
Or will it?
