Re: Distros of interest
I just say Debian. Now it even comes with firmware preinstalled. Bookworm is the best release ever, also if you are a Gnome user, the version is relatively recent. No snaps, no commercial shit and it just works, but I am preaching to the choir, right? :)

Re: Random Internet Thread
Oh that shit again. Was just reading about it yesterday and today. I saw a redacted document from the minutes where Europol basically demands access to scan all data in chat applications. I have found the article again: https://balkaninsight.com/2023/09/25/who-benefits-inside-the-eus-fight-over-scan...

I am into Italian cinema recently. After Estate violenta I watched Il traditore. The latter actually contains the Sicilian dialect apart that even Portuguese is spoken in that movie. Nice for language buffs like myself.

Finally I saw Tod Browning's Freaks (1932). It is such a weird movie, in a good way.

Inception This is an impossible drag, no wonder the first time I got angry at the screen. Nolan has just no sense of rhythm when it comes to action sequences and, as it happened before, I could not care less about any characters involved whatsoever. Some day I'll probably get Nolan like everyone el...

^ Sounds like crap and I was expecting crap. The next time you open a website you need to verify your name and age with an electronic ID card and then you will be bombarded with ads and finally you can read the crappy news and they are fake.

^ I send the first volume to my sister as a birthday present. Your fault. ;) She read it in three days and is waiting to be able to continue. She worked in a literature club or association.

Re: VPN and DNS Nonsense
I am actually pretty happy with Mullvad, so I will stay with it. It is only sometimes slower on my laptop than I would expect. I am not sure why. Maybe I should switch to WireGuard. I have still running it through OpenVPN because that is what Proton used when I first installed it. On mobile it works...

^ Still love how clean env-info looks.
Congrats to another Debian release. I will be updating one machine that originally had, actually I cannot remember anymore, in the next weeks or coming month and of course my main rig will be getting Bookworm as soon as I have some more time.

^ Just as I switched from ProtonVPN to Mullvad in May. :( If you pay monthly then you should have nothing to worry about. Forwarded port(s) will be active until 1st July. If you’ve paid for longer you can email support to request a refund even if the 30-day refund period has passed (although it wil...

Now you filled up my watch list. :) PS: La révolution française (1989). It was quite enjoyable. If you are interested. It is a long one. I watched it in three parts. The conflict between Danton and Robespierre is also treated. Now I can compare both movies. How I missed that one with Depardieu. I gu...
