Just tried my first ever English brew Old Speckled Hen - it was ok but I think I prefer German and possibly Austrian. Found a Countdown which has quite a few German ones.

For local beers (ale): A nice pint of Woodeford's Wherry (pronounced like 'very') is a perfect pint for a sunny day and a packet of crips in a pub garden. Well guys what Beers do you like?, I love German beers as New Zealand Beers seem to be very watery.
So far I like Kaltenberg and DAB also tried a nice Dutch one called Bavaria.

Yeah I agree bigger sticks are the way to and they are as cheap as chips.
Makes lugging around my laptop lighter too with no hardrive installed and can use differerent BBQ's on the same machine.
