Re: Screenshots

Was never a fan of the Unity style but I wanted a new interface. :D Now I like it there. That happens when you are bored on Sid.

If it kills the conky in background, try to play with some values to adjust it in 2d mode. Hell, long time that I played with conky in desktop environments. 3d works fine here with Intel, do not ask me if it is i915.

What can I say. I am surprised by Cinnamon! You did a very outstanding job Bacon. Maybe you can remember that I was sceptical about Linux Mint's Cinnamon desktop but you packaged it so nicely. It looks sexy and runs great. You see, Ivan playing with Cinnamon, incredible! I am tempted to install it o...

Re: Screenshots

^ A WM solution for me is to use one of the minimal WMs. I would recommend you dwm, spectrwm and i3. Did you try Threesome yet? It comes with i3: http://linuxbbq.org/wordpress/?p=113 Oyster will give you all the WMs in Debian land: http://linuxbbq.org/release_linuxbbq-0.5-oyster486.php We had even a...

Re: IRC Channel Pledge! Join Us

In a terminal client or command line in IRC GUI programs, should also work in xchat:

Code: Select all

/join #linuxbbq
Of course after connecting to Freenode, similar:

Code: Select all

/connect freenode

Re: Htop and processes question.

Machine is right but that does not prevent Chrome to use more resources than Firefox. Once it was advertised as a lightweight alternative. Ok, I stop to rant, going off-topic.

Re: Htop and processes question.

Do not worry about it or do. :) It depends. Chrome/ium has a process for every damn opened tab! Would mean, 50 tabs=50 processes.
