Re: Mother Release News
mother = systemd i guess? because in that case: try booting in verbose mode (type 'e' at GRUB screen and change 'quiet' to 'verbose' in the kernel line) and see what is causing the slowdown. probably dhcpdiscover not finding your wireless or something. or something else. otherwise, in a terminal try...

Re: Problems with download (Saltimbocca) i686
the download-method suggested by wayne is indeed the best way to download it. browsers often have download-managers built in that don't properly cap the speed, which some servers don't enjoy, causing broken downloads. other than that, you could wait for somebody to brew you a torrent :)

Re: Meet the meat!
@wux: yes that type of Dutch dish is indeed called a 'stamppot' which means something like 'take-vegetables-and-potatoes-and-mash-them-together-with-some-gravy' :) i am sorry, i never cook the fine Dutch cuisine, but always make penne (pasta) with tomato-sauce, all out of a pre-produced package. i a...

Re: Hi from new member - linuxlover
to give you a slightly bit more detail on the use of 'sync': depending on the settings of certain storage media, stuff you copy there is either copied immediately, or 'cached' and copied leisurely later. if the latter is the case, and you unplug the drive before the system is done doing its thing in...
