Re: Saltimbocca 'verbose' boot parameter bug-thingy
thanks for the fast replies. i've read a lot of stuff about systemd yesterday as i tried to determine whether i'd use Salti as a 'main' release for my old-new PCs, and i do like it. so i wouldn't mind having it at least as an option. but i can understand this can be annoying to deal with. maybe the ...

Saltimbocca 'verbose' boot parameter bug-thingy
when booting Saltimbocca (686) using a boot parameter of 'verbose' (either by editing the first option or using failsafe, which has it enabled by default), the bootprocess seems to hang with the following message: starting notify audit system and update utmp about system runlevel changes when you pr...

Re: one two
hi dkeg, welcome to the somewhat more serious side of the BBQ. indeed, the *noob forums are a place to have some good fun and meet friends and hang out. the linuxbbq forums are a place to complain to bacon about not including App X into the latest release ;) to keep with the bbq analogy, linuxnoob i...

Re: Screenshots
oh this is awesome. those old photographs on the background work perfectly. may i suggest using one of them (if at all copyright-permitted) on a Linuxbbq release? it would look especially great on the latest Saltimbocca, as your screenshots show. but that makes sense as that one is the most beautifu...

Re: salti roaster crashing
imo, if there were a setting in the wicd config file or something to have wlan0 as wireless interface by default, the problem would be a lot smaller. just Googled a bit, and it seems this is possible: wicd config-files: /etc/wicd/manager-settings.conf /etc/wicd/wired-settings.conf /etc/wicd/wireless...

Re: salti roaster crashing
sorry apprentice, i cannot replicate your issues. Roaster works just fine for me.
btw, Jules, naturally your tip worked, wicd connected just fine and typing this from a very smooth Saltimbocca :)

Re: salti roaster crashing
^ thanks Jules, i never realized wicd has some hidden preferences field where i had to enter stuff. it's been a while since i last used wicd. however, it is kinda weird that ceni wasn't working for me. but maybe that had something to do with the wicd daemon still running (?)
gonna try again!

Re: salti roaster crashing
just downloaded, dd'd and booted Saltimbocca to test for this Roaster crashing stuff. however, couldn't get my wifi to work (always with the dogdamned wifi!). here's my lspci -knn for that issue at least (or you want me to start a separate thread?): http://linuxbbq.org/zerobin/index.php?f26727669204...

Re: Kielbasa Release News
only link between Kielbasa and Paardenrookvlees: http://linuxbbq.org/release_linuxbbq-rc1-xfce64.php - apparently a mistake in the releasenotes.txt the file should be good. i have no time to download and check it myself tonight, sorry. bacon, if your connection is slow and you want me to check it, i...
