Re: Any cli player doing m4a?
I've purged mplayer and ffmpeg and reinstalled ffmpeg. All good now. Downloaded some files from the site posted by bacon above and m4a is finally working. Thanks, guys.

Re: Any cli player doing m4a?
M4a's under Debian is no problem. Most of the little CLI players use ffmpeg or libav and it should play them. If you use some of the heavier GUI players then it uses GStreamer, probably gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad. In this case you certainly have to add the codec. VLC, Deadbeef, mpv, mplayer and mpd ...

Re: Any cli player doing m4a?
Snap, you came here with a question, looking for help with your m4a files. Many of us chimed in, with a quickness I might add, to offer solutions. The response from you was defensive, and quite rude. Obviously you had not tried hard enough, b/c, well, they do in fact work. Wasting other members' ti...

Re: Any cli player doing m4a?
Oops. too late. I've converted everything to mp3. I'll do some tests later and check the errors. I should be missing some codec or something. You forgot the play command from sox, folks. but the formats listed doesn't include m4a. Anyway, it's another nice CLI player and recorder. And Snap, it's mpV...

Re: Any cli player doing m4a?
None of those programs do it. That's why I'm asking. Tried them all (with the ffmpeg plugins). I haven't tried mpd, but I don't like it that much. I can play m4a with GUI apps like deadbeef, but haven't found a way within the cli yet. Thankfully they all do AIFF. Most of my CDs collection is AIFF co...

DHCP is not very fast either. Faster than static but it still takes a few seconds.

Freeze. Do not upg. Something is borking the X again. I think it's something related to the new gcc packages fucking the VMs up.

yeah, I'm at the stage of finding somewhat ergonomic keybindings in urxvt and tmux that don't step every other toes when running programs inside them and are not stolen by the WM. I guess once you are done with it you can use it forever. take it easy Snap. one thing at a time Wish I could. I see daz...

Want to learn it all; tmux, urvxt, vim, cwm, swm, lemmonbar, wmutils, using funtions, improve my dmenu skills, becoming somewhat comfortable into the framebuffer and dtvm, improve my ssh habits, learn bash scr...

Re: urxvt tabbedex not working
Can't avoid exploring, folks. tabbed does a great job and covers my tabbing addtion pretty well. IMHO, tabbing saves windows. it's cleaner and they fit my workflow/habits. Also more than three panes in tmux starts to look like a ratnest. That's when tabs come in handy. Just wanted to know what tabbe...
