Re: If not Debian...
I have changed my tune from Arch... FreeBSD's ports have replaced ABS in my book. I also enjoy Slackware's philosophy and overall design, so it would probably be what I would be primarily running if it wasn't for Debian being as glorious (and familiar!) as it is.

Re: TV series
I've been following Season 2 of Better Call Saul . I've enjoyed it a lot so far, really impressed by Bob Odenkirk's talent. He (along with Vince Gilligan's directing talent) does a wonderful job of portraying Jimmy on the slippery slope to the life of the less-than-reputable but effective lawyer of ...

Nice! ZFS... that's something I can get behind :) Loving it with FreeBSD, although I don't quite know whether it is hugely different from brtfs for me.

Re: Dr_Chroot
Alrighty, quick and ugly. Slackware's current branch with swm/wmutils (of course). Having fun with Slackbuilds, strange but interesting having to do my own package resolution. bash4.2# removepkg /var/log/packages/*-4.14.3-* cleaned most of the KDE cruft outta here. Of course, there are a ton of othe...

Re: What's your uname?
Installed Slackware-CURRENT, finally got wifi working with wpa_supplicant (first for me with Slackware, yay!) and removed KDE bloat. Reminds me a lot of *BSD, perhaps a small taste of the old UNIX :D [drchroot@jaro ~]$ uname -a Linux jaro 4.4.5 #2 SMP Thu Mar 10 15:58:21 CST 2016 x86_64 Intel(R) Cor...

Re: Linux News
Oh my gosh, Windows 10 updates are being a pain. My Uncle has an older Dell laptop with Windows 7 barely eeking by on it, left it on the table while he was waiting his GoToMeeting to start with a client... came back to it upgrading to Win10 screen :/ (Now, he isn't exactly computer-savvy, so I don't...

Re: Happy Birthday Dr_Chroot!
HEY!!! Such anger against us poor 30-ish youngsters. Haha, to be honest the 30s seem like when you actually start getting somewhere after trail/error in the 20s. My parents are in their 40s, and from what it looks like you begin exchanging physical strength and stamina for wisdom and knowledge gain...

Re: Happy Birthday Dr_Chroot!
Haha, thanks everyone! It is a little overwhelming to be 18 already. The last 5 or so years have gone by in what feels like a year or so, which is a little sobering in and of itself. I'm going to do my best to enjoy these younger years, as well as build a foundation of skills and experience I can dr...
