Re: Classical music

^ Wow, that is pretty impressive. I have a great respect for classically trained musicians... quite a bit of blood, sweat, and tears!

Re: BOOK! (Hardcopy edition)

^ I should read some Dune one of these days. I have been meaning to get into that! Recently I've been reading through Thackeray's Vanity Fair... more of a fun read than anything else :D Satire of the culture of 19th Century Great Britain.

Re: Dr_Chroot

Nothing much, just proof of a successful Void Linux install :) Everything worked swimmingly. I'm very much enjoying the system as a whole, especially the xbps package manager (I take those for granted until I use Slackware...) and runit has been pretty fun to play with. I just have wmutils + sxhkd g...

Re: If not Debian...

I've been tempted to try BSD for ages, but still haven't gotten around to it. Well, the documentation is fairly exhaustive and if you are comfortable with Slackware/CRUX, you will almost certainly feel comfortable in a *BSD. If you consider giving it a try, the FreeBSD handbook is a wonderful place...

Re: I can't believe I did that

Oh man, rsync is my homeboy! I absolutely love it. A quick 'rsync -a /home/drchroot/audio/* /media/usb/Music' updates my music backup with all of the tunes I've downloaded with mps recently. I also use it to push updates to my experimental website; it's such a dynamic, dank tool.

Wow, very nice! You have a penchant for colors, much like some of the other grillers here :) I don't have nearly the same eye. I'm in the same camp with the browsers! I usually have several installed D: Either conkeror and xombrero are usually my "lighter" browsers and Vivaldi or PaleMoon ...

Re: Random Internet Thread

Oh boy. This is one of the few things that really embitters me. I am surrounded with rabid Apple fans. It tossed up this Daily Dot article on Facebook and the push back was amazing. I got wonderful texts, including "I hate the openness of Androids and I hate the functionality of them." Ser...

Re: Hail to the grill!

Hey, welcome to the grill, my friend. I'm digging the scrot! Sounds like you're a busy man, but you appear to be quite the nixer none the less :D Florida, eh? It gets a bad rap for some reason, but it's my home-away-from-home for 5-6 months out of the year. It has its rough areas, sure, but there ar...

How did I miss this!? Welcome to the BBQ :) (Better late then never, I suppose.)

^^ You know, I'm not particularly clear on what their motives are. Their sourceforge page isn't overly detailed. It sort of reminded me of Debian/kFreeBSD with the ZFS support and other goodies.

Re: Youtube Thread

I was bored so I started working my way through this playlist: EverySteveJobsVideo: The NeXT years (1985 - 1996) I was particularly struck by the amount of work that must have gone into each NeXTWorld Expo, the magazine the NeXT had, etc. Obviously OS X had to come from somewhere, but it is really i...
