Thanks for the friendly welcome. And as for MATE, why not! I am just concerned about their move to GTK3... but that's another topic :) Wheezy still has GTK 3.4 so I hope it's not (too) problematic... but if you wanted MATE in sid with GTK 3.12 and client-side crap and stuff.. D: anxious to try Arch?...

Thanks, and yeah, mintupdate improved over time but I still look for something less clunky. MATE has a similar applet, I bet it could be adapted to Cinnamon if your extension went missing. ;)
