Re: Can Cream be installed to HD with all wm's intact?

I knew it would break sooner or later. I'm sure Ill break it again soon. Not complaining, just stating an observation. I just wanted it installed so i could test configuring WMs and see what i can make comfortable. Id rather keep breaking and restoring this than crash a HD with real data on it... Ju...

Installing BBQ to a USB drive.

Still couldn't narrow down much with search, so here goes. I've tried installing 8 versions of BBQ to USB. So far, the only two that worked were Cream and Cardboard. Cardboard was stuck in TTY, but that may he ignorance not an actual issue. Most of the installs failed somewhere near GRUB install or ...

Re: Favourite Beers

Im guessing its a similar issue with American beers. I know we ship like Budweiser, Miller, and Coors worldwide. Alot of the really good local brewery stuff can only be found in the state it's brewed in, most likely not out of the country at all. Im guessing that's why Aussies think all our beer is ...

Re: Best base BBQ for my needs?

Either in Chrome or Firefox with a search shortcut like deb for Debian packages. My example uses mplayer on the official Debian site. https://packages.debian.org/search?lang=en&keywords=mplayer I saw that in Firefox yesterday. Wondered; can it be set to only show packages i can get? Or are all ...

Re: A better way to search forums?

Hopefully i learn enough to give back to the community at some point. If nothing else, I like to think outside the box and try weird things I'm not supposed to do. I can be the resident find weird bugs no one thought of guy, lol. How can I break something today :D I have a few ideas for spins I'd li...

Re: A better way to search forums?

My weird Toshiba sound card works right outta the box, so you've got most distros beat there... i do still plan on using other distros via usb on the netbook, but BBQ will be hard installed.
You guys all seem really knowledgeable too and generous to share. Debian's great,

Re: Can Cream be installed to HD with all wm's intact?

How many dist-upgrades does it take to break the center of a Cream kernel? 2 Ah ah ah. 1st one went smooth, took 2 hrs. 2nd one froze after about 8hrs. Saw a lot of systemd and gtk stuff being listed during it... So reloaded from clonezilla, trying again without upgrades this time. Gonna avoid synap...

Re: Forum rankings

Cream is like multi-flavor gummy bears. But LinuxBBQ in general has an amazing amount of Variety. Most distros have a 32bit and a 64 bit. Some have multiple desktop versions, but here is different. New cometely varied distros poppin out like rabbit babies, lol. The fact I can burn them all to cd or ...

A lot of my questions are probably the same as every other new user here. I can't imagine most of them haven't been answered already at some point.

Re: A better way to search forums?

Nothing specific off hand. Before I even registered, I was trying to find a lot of BBQ releases I saw on youtube. Um, actually was trying to find stuff on USB installs recently, but came up with way too many results. It would take either of those words anywhere and not "usb installs", so s...

Re: Favourite Beers

I don't remeber a lot of them specifically. A lot of my drinking days were in extreme excess, so hard to say. I had to look up the beers I tried in Japan because those 2 years are pretty much a blur. Its just weird when i feel full or can't finish a beer. Its entirely possible most German beers i tr...

Re: Best base BBQ for my needs?

Anorexia or Adipositas look cool, but those will have to be usb installs for a while. I don't know near enough to start that fresh. I think I only used cmd for ipconfig on windows. Didnt even realize that was a terminal until recently, lol. Im learning quick for 6-8mo on Linux, but got a long ways t...

Re: Favourite Beers

I like most beer, but forget half i've tried... I'm not a huge fan of German beers. Just don't like a meal in a bottle. In Japan, Kirin & Orion were pretty good. In the US, Odell Brewing Company: 90 Shilling, Cuthroat Porter, and Easy Street Wheat Ale are great (90 Shilling is a bit heavy though...

Re: Best base BBQ for my needs?

Also, want to thank MachineBacon and everyone who makes BBQ! Didn't wanna make a new thread for this, but wanted to mention it. Just got Netbook back together after hardware malfunctions. Got to try my BBQCream USB on it for the first time tonight. Thank you for keeping it old school and remembering...
