Re: New member, zero posting, why?

^ yes, but does a level 16 equate to "uninstaller" (don't tell me, I don't want to know) ;)
A level 16 (on the other forum) tends to think pretty highly of himself.
Guess I'm saying I appreciate the tongue in cheek here.
It makes it fun... and what would we do if it wasn't fun?

Re: New member, zero posting, why?

I'm glad you guys don't give "rankings" for number of posts.
There's [at least] 1 forum where someone is "Grand Poobah" (high on the rankings) and is so full of himself that he views everyone else is an idiot.

Re: TV series

Growing up I really enjoyed The Six Million Dollar Man
Loosely based on Marin Caidin's Cyborg Series
I can catch re-runs on the Esquire channel

Re: New member, zero posting, why?

Great point!! (tho I have posted here) There are a few other distros that I hop to once in a while and as I say, "You choose a distro, you choose a repo _and_ a forum". While there other Debian-based distros, the LinuxBBQ forums keep me coming back. The members are very knowledgeable, yet ...

Re: Linux News

The first step worked so far... I commented out the original sources.list and made sources.list.d/solydxk.list I created the sources.list.d files siduction required. I used no preferences. Then fired up smxi and did the dist-upgrade. I fought wine a bit (note to self: remove it before changing sourc...

Re: Linux News

I rolled kanotix (when based on sid) and then sidux for about 6 years, no problem.
I ran #! tracking sid for about 2 years, no problem (thanks to MB).

I found if there are problems in sid, they are fixed fairly quickly.

I don't think it's throwing in the towel at all. Some of the forum members are losing their minds over it, so I...

Re: BSD vs Linux

Not much in the original article. Mainly op-ed. It's fine to be op-ed, but the writer was pretty nebulous (and subjective) in his qualifications.
If there wasn't room for both Linux and BSD in the industry, there wouldn't be both.
