Re: Why did Linux pick you? And why did Sid?
I was always into tweaking things, well as much as I could tweak on Windows. I was also always interested in Linux when I first heard about it but was too afraid to make the switch because I would be out of a comfort zone and I knew there was going to be much to learn on a switch. After some time, I...

I like C a lot. I recently bought a perl book, which is pretty fun so I practice perl more than C now. Been trying out scheme and prolog, they are pretty fun and different :)

It would be cool to have a separate BBQ vault server. If anyone ever wants to implement it, I have two or three machines waiting to be turned into servers.

Cheap Books
If you are interesting in getting some cheap books, I highly recommend checking out http://www.abebooks.com/.
I have gotten many books from here at amazing prices. The host also seems to have a real nice philosophy for the site to promote learning/education.
Check it out :)

Eh, I was never much of a fan of Google anyway. They are a great search engine, but they need to stop trying to be everything. I think I head phrase like that somewhere... ah here it is: "Do one thing and do it well."

I agree with you, rho. The logic was all sound. The only thing that got me confused was the ending: We believe that if we want to see the world of open source software grow and compete at the same level as closed source software, we should encourage users to pay for its development I do not think th...

^ I understand the no caps lock thing but why would you ever move control from the bottom left corner? D: I dislike it when companies put FN on the far left rather than control.

light - GNU/Linux application to control backlights
light is a super lightweight application that allows you to control your screen brightness. Changing your brightness is as simple as: light -S 30 Also, just type the command light to see what your current brightness is at. Here is the github for it: https://github.com/haikarainen/light The creators ...

2.2G for me. I am currently on the laptop I use for school. Eclipse and Java JDK take up quite a bit of space.

Re: How do you like to install an OS?
I recently got into installing the OS via tarball. Sure it is more complicated this way, but to me it can be more fun. At the end of the day though, I like installers such as BBQinstaller because I can install what I want on the fly.

Thank you all for the best wishes and blessings. You are all truly great people! I am not going anywhere, but I at least wanted to say thank you to each of you. Without any of you, I would still be stuck in a computing world full of bloat and being told what to do. You have all not only helped me in...

@bacon: The wikipedia part is true, but other than that I mostly read web pages that deal with networking, UNIX. and C :D

I use Firefox without any sort of adblocking program and I can honestly say that I never have any ads pop up ever. I must have l33t mode turned on in Firefox or something.
