I think bacon described it as sitting astride two horses 8)
Same oddly with upstart on my ubuntu server, sysV commands work fine.although I havent tried any other method.

i'm more than likely wrong, but can't a 'old style' -
sudo service **** status/stop etc be run as well, or has sysV been totally purged on trollinger?

well, the -other- thing was i needed the intel drivers from xorg to make the framebuffer work OOTB, I think it might have nothing to do with systumd not working. 8)

hi Jack. 8P i don't have a temp gauge installed. seems that my twin turbines don't start up much. you got me worried now 8) on topic - the other installs seem to need vga=778 on boot, i know, that's depreciated, works though. oh a natural systemd install (keilbasa) didn't like gnome3 installed eithe...
