Re: show us your iron
^ The most viable option based on your requirement would be a gigabit capable SBC / old PC + extra pcie gigabit ethernet cards i think. I mean, support is virtually endless with pfsense / linux and you can leave the wireless stuff to any access point hardwares out there (like that ubiquiti ap).

Re: show us your iron
^^ Just don't buy Mikrotik (Sorry DD, I don't like my own router), No support for anything but legacy stuff. They have no support for ED25519 for instance, only just got rid of DSA, recent upgrades bring their own baggage of problems, don't bother using anything but the bugfix release of the OS if y...

^ We have been using it at work too, moved to chef lately as our infrastructure grows. I'm still personally using it for some stuff (mostly personal projects) like setup new vps, fail2ban, wireguard and the likes.

Re: tips and tricks for everything but emacs
We finally ditched iptables and switched to nftables at work, neat! For tips or tricks, for those of you who likes this kind of stuff can use sets (much like ipset) to simplify rules, for instance, a snippet: set set tcp_svc { type inet_service; flags interval; elements = { ssh, domain, 443, netbios...

^ Hahaha they are the artists and my house is their canvas. I'm a short person, and lightweight enough that sitting on a foldable chair, crosslegged, having a full sized ergo keyboard on my lap doesn't bother me. ;) I ought to buy a good wireless keyboard, that would have to wait. The red light stuf...

Still need to do a lot of stuff like hiding those unruly cables, and a carpet That's the main pc, the bonecaster machine. I tried hard to make ...

I'm not a phone enthusiast or anything, i got way better battery on my smartphones when i remove all the google apps and install microg https://microg.org . From around 10 hours to about a day and a half when i'm fairly busy. I'm also considering replacing the old samsung s4 android os with a real l...

^ Ouch okay I got it, well it's quite hard to answer it. How technical is this customer of yours? If they aren't quite technical just tell them something like "just because a woman / man wear chastity belt, doesn't mean they can't get raped.". ;)

^ It's not, the only plugins i use is tmux-resurrect and tmux-continuum. The others are symlink only (from previous bloated install circa 2016/2017), and i stupidly added it to my git history back then, and of course i'm too lazy to rewrite it, they are all remain unstaged since a while ago. ^^ Than...

^ Aha! I was puzzled when Wux wrote Street of Rage. Didn't know it was Bare Knuckle. Very fond of the game, didn't remember the black fellow name, but i remember Axel and Blaze.
