Re: [SOLVED] fstab, chown or chmod - A partition

Hey guys ... Certainly you can ask, pidsley, and what you say does make sense. Bit of History: When I came from W2K to Linux (Ubuntu) I had problems even getting a data partition I could use. So I went about doing what I could - searching and asking. I was angry that "I" couldn't mount (at...

Re: (OK)pcmanfm in trouble

Just applied the BBQ sources.list to it this am - less the bbq repos - have to ask about that. I call it: 26 Aug 13 | 16:15:46 ~ $ lsb_release -ds Sector11 0.01 26...

Re: Moving ahead... need siduction public keys

@ wuxmedia I hate being called an expert. 'knowledgeable' is better. ex = has been ... (s)pert = a drip under pressure. so for me you're 'knowledgeable' on the subject. :D And that 'workaround' is pretty slick as well. I wounder if I had done those 2 gpg steps and then apt-cache search keyring if it...

World One: Linux + TUI.
World Two: point and click.

I'll give VirtualBox a look.

Re: Best to wait?

What's wrong with deb-multimedia? You suggest "apt" over "aptitude"? I used "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" up until a short time ago. Love aptitude show and search functions. Iceweasel came in fine. :D I noticed siduction in linuxbbq-darkside...

Re: Why HardMetal + cli == good for you.

First things first: Thanks for starting this DJ. Second: HardMetal-CLI: ain't gonna happen here 'for a while', and when it does; it will be a small partition on it's own, not even mounting the other partitions for my use only. Re: The Future of amd64 spins

Food for thought, thank you. Virtualization - never tried it, but have been thinking about it to run different Distros vs installing them. I've been told it's slow and memory hungry. Well, I have 5GB of memory I've never used. WINE? No not needed, I have no need of any Win apps at all, and I do not...

Thanks ...
The other stuff was yesterday and the day before, just the iceweasel one now. I have midori as a backup.
I'll let it run, normally I see stuff and wait but after two days with the xorg stuff I just wanted to check.
