no crackles - internal mic and external mic works without any probs, not too sure about the auto boosting still. i will try the model=acer bit, to see if its even better. in fact it was so much better, we called the interviewer and he re-did the interview. 8) sidenote; (before in audio effects terms...

thanks bacon. she just had the interview, interviewer seemed happy. I found using skypes mic boost totally made her sound like pantera or rank sinatra. so I disabled that. I ended up plugging the studio mic into my vestax mixer, then into computer line in, just to get a bit more sound... actually, a...
