- your custom panel will be lost, probably your wallpaper will change.
- compiz doesn't work too well with it, at all (windecs actually work this time, but minimize-maximise-close buttons jump around, yet the activation is in the same place.
- Marco is however - very quick and a compositor.
- bug - seems 'appearance manager' enjoys continual 99% CPU usage, even when the app is closed 8(
- This Forum post advises removal of mate-media-gstreamer.
I completely ignored it, seems to work anyway i'm an idiot no sound in skype - edited.

Seems that simply upg
then purging gstreamer
updates it a to 1.6
seems to need to run the ins mate-desktop-environment after.
