solve dependencies with aspcud

Nothing wrong with APT, but sometimes packages are removed although they wouldn't need to be, when performing dist-upgrades. aspcud can help you to solve these dependencies without removing previously installed packages during a dist-upgrade.

As usually, you break it, you fix it.

As a side not, I find Devil's post interesting.

I was not even aware that

Code: Select all

apt upgrade
functions a bit different than

Code: Select all

apt-get upgrade
but I already prefer using

Code: Select all

apt dist-upgrade
e.g. because it gives you the nice list of packages to be upgraded afterward. It seems apt improved a little.
