This one should be pretty easy for most of you, but just in case someone wanted to update theirs to the newest version, I figured I'd cover it.
First, if you haven't downloaded it, there's two ways to get the most currently updated version of roaster. If you have git installed, it amazing simple to stay updated. Simple go to your terminal and type:
Code: Select all
git clone https://github.com/DebianJoe/roaster
This will pull the main branch down into a folder called "~/roaster" on your PC. The other method, which doesn't require git, is to navigate to
https://github.com/DebianJoe/roaster and click the "Download ZIP" button. Unzip this file wherever you wish.
Now, navigate to your newly created "roaster" directory. In the terminal (in this directory) enter:
Code: Select all
cp .roaster.conf ~/.roaster.conf
sudo cp roaster.py /usr/bin/roaster
This should work if you have an older version of roaster installed already. The only added dependency since the initial version is "python-config-parser"
http://packages.debian.org/source/sid/configparser, which you can get via apt.
Happy Roasting.
