^ Uh huh, prolly because it offers nothing new or nothing a few plugins do, without the additional nodejs-heavy workflow and dependencies.

Ohoh, should have searched before posting here. Sorry. Thanks for link to thread. Will try Brave later, but on Windows probably, will stick to Iceweasel like glue. :)

After another round of browser hate and testing, I have gone back to using Pale Moon:

^Pale Moon is a nice browser. That was my go to browser for quite a long time. Everything you love about Firefox, minus some bloat.

These days I have just been sticking with iceweasel.

^^I had never even heard of the Pale Moon browser. I just installed it on my Egeszsegedre and it works great! Thanks for that, bones! :)

So, on my 686 machines I have to use Chromium now instead of Chrome. Basically everything is just the same.

Chrome pulls in more junk than Chromium

^ for my old laptops this junk is comparably helpful (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromium_ ... gle_Chrome), Chromium never really renders videos well (stuttering sound, flickering, or sometimes not even playing at all, only if reloaded a few times).

Recently i'm using Palemoon. I'm satisfied by the performance and the ram usage.

Bye Iceweasel, it was fun while it lasted.

graphical: depends on the machine (main 64 bit or 32 bit netbook), firefox (64 bit), because i have plenty of tabs open between scientific and linux content, and vivaldi for videos (i can't stand chrome, and vivaldi has few plugins, but is compatible with most chrome ones i've tried).

32 bit - seamonkey. i'm beginning to like the monkey more than palemoon, as a fox replacement...and it handles https everywhere and ublock, midori on lighter machines and for things i'm currently working on.

^ I found the latest build of Vivaldi to be pretty nice, too. I could see using it on a regular basis, and all of my plugins worked (from Chrome): ublock origin, privacy badger, and https-everywhere.

^have you been able to get Palemoon to work with https everywhere? that's one of the reasons i've been using Seamonkey, it can handle my favorite plugins. Palemoon never seems to work with it...

eff don't support palemoon. In the other hand, seamonkey don't support vimperator nor any vimperator-like plugins such as pentadactyl.

Conkeror does everything well though.... though you might want to edit the xpi first

This older version works with Pale Moon:

^^well frank, thank you...but dammit, i'd just found one i like and now i have to re-evaluate the decision. i'll just have to keep comparing.

^bones, as frank pointed out, apparently Palemoon has a version of https everywhere of it's very own. it seems to work similarly. either way i'll have to keep comparing the two. cheers.

^ Encrypted Web, yes, I caught that and checked it out after I posted. Cool! I'm glad someone did that.

Also, what frank said about conkeror is true, great browser.
