Just wanted to say that I am sorry for being off topic in my previous post. I will explain myself and make up for it later in this post. What I use as "wallpaper" is the Openbox default dirt-grey shade. It is very soothing on the eyes, and combined with some simple b//w/g themes and icons...I am ok. Earlier I changed things around, but after a short while I always went back to my normal state of b/w/g. There is just no point in fancying things up for me anymore, that is why I never care to do any screenshots. I mean what is the point of showing a dirt-grey screenie with a ditto terminal? But back when I used wallpapers I prefferred space themes, yes that is soooo nineties today. But I thought that I should make up for my off topicness earlier by providing a link from where I got my favorites. You probably have seen it before, so just in case, if someone want to make a nice neoretro scrot it might come in handy. Back on topic! :)

^^ and ^ ... The thing with screenshots is not solely the wallpaper. Actually, for me, that is a turnoff, only changing wall, keeping all else the same, calling it new.

What I like is seeing how the overall is put together for that 'look'. Whether the wall is plain or not, it's the look that the screenshot is for. I like to mentally create the users workflow by looking at the setup, and if available, the dotfiles.

Exactly but then you are the artist here. Nobody can come even close to your scrots.

work has been pretty boring today, so i'll write my verbose explanation in an attempt to validate the above claim about dkeg:

IMO I don't doubt there are a lot of competent ricers out there, the likes of crshd, yrmt, trapd00r, windelicato, kori, z3bra, mafia, ahoka, etc... Most of them have their own fancy setup (pretty bars, colorful scripts, etc). What i really like about dkeg is his knack of making simple and minimalistic things look awesome even down to the smallest detail, while maintaining the sheer practicality of the desktop. In this sense, he's second to none. :)

I still think when it comes to colorschemes (the overall consistency, balance, and usability), grill's own Gutterslob is one of the best there is.

I often post dkeg's scrots in my timeline on Wechat (that's an IM application many people use here in the PRC, a bit like Line or Whatsapp) and I get hundreds of thumbs up from people who never seen anything like a Linux desktop. They ask me how this is done, and that it looks - in one word - awesome. We can say: drew' scrots have laid some girls in the region by proxy. Thanks for that :D
