On this lappy (and partition) is xfce4-terminal.
Otherwise I always use st.

I've succumbed to the fact I'll just be using URxvt. I just seems to cover my needs good enough. Thought of trying termite, but too many evil dependencies, plus only supports xft fonts. ST I cannot get fallback fonts to work. But so far, that would be the secondary option in the lead.

Re: What's your x-terminal-emulator?
Well, it depends...
Right now, I am on an xubuntu install, so I use the xfce4-terminal
I usually install urxvt, or xterm, on my own installs, like netinstalls, and such.
On bbq spins, well they usually have urxvt, so that is what I use there.
On antix, roxterm.
It is not really THAT important to me. I don't do anything special in my terminals, so as long as I have a box to type stuff into, I am ok.

Normally urxvt or xterm, but really I am not that picky about it. Those two are my preferred ones, but as rust collector so nicely put it, "as long as I have a box to type stuff into , I am ok" :)

URxvt and sometimes the Trinity Konsole. I tend to still use URxvt on GNOME3 or XFCE-bloated installations.

It will always be urxvt. It does everything I want it to do. On DEs I also just need a box to type stuff in. :)
