yeah - essentially the same as the current one :)
making a user before or after doesn't make any odds to me, but creating 'during installation' should obviate some support 'issues'

I chose debian backports, but tbh, it depends on what I want the spin to do, work or experimenting,

Siduction sources yes, backports on stable why not, oh maybe let this the user do. Creating the user before or after, it does not matter to me but seems to be something the newbs have problems with.

When I think about it I prefer to take adding other sources myself.

I vote for separate boot, separate home, /dev/sdX fstab, user account during install, sid with siduction repo.

The only thing I voted for was /dev/sdxY. The rest I can use either way.

I don't use separate /boot or /home, but it's nice to have the option in the installer.
I never encrypt.
I always use ext4.
I never use UUIDs.
I have a swap partition, but I can enable it myself.
I don't care if the user account is created before or after.
I have a slight preference for vanilla sources (no siduction, no backports) but I can see both sides of this. Having siduction sources makes bbq a little different from your average sid spin, and a little less likely to break.

Okay thanks. before too much scepticism arises:
- I wanted to be as democratic as possible and understand what is important *our* users
- especially how many of us use UUIDs
- it's Chinese New Year, so I have time to continue the work on the bbqinstall script (not bbqinstaller)
- I want to give it some missing features (possibility to skip GRUB, swap detection, separate home with and without formatting, adding sources, adding user, linking Xresources_colors).
- of course I keep bbqinstaller untouched.

I have mainly used ext4 in the past, but last time, I used btrfs instead. To take the stress out of dist-upgrades by doing a subvolume snapshot beforehand. And it has worked great so far...

I use UUID sometimes, and suprise... I agree with Pidsley :)
I don't encrypt anything at my drive for a good reason (in my case).
In the past I screwed up some installation (call it the 'learning curve'), it damn handy to boot up a system with a livecd and backup things that otherwise went to nirvana.

I voted use UUID and create user account during install. None of the other stuff applies to me.

Although I do use a separate /data partition, but home is just lumped in with root. If I need to reinstall, it's a quick restore, but my /data partition is getting a little too big to be copying back and forth all the time.
