Hey, I recommend tmux-powerline if you want to have a more verbose and kool-kid tmux status bar :) It's a staple in future (new) BBQ releases.

Yeah, I'm in the market for a cool TTY colorscheme. I was checking out the ccolor script, but I haven't had a chance yet to really play around with it. I'm taking breaks from my latest writing project by seeing what I can break. :)
Perhaps I'm a bit slow on this one, but since it looks like the xcolors and fb_colors were no longer synced ("...if you want something done right..."), I generated terminal escape scripts and pushed all of the updated scripts to:
https://github.com/linuxbbq/xcolors/tre ... /fb_colors
If you have git, you can clone that directory and simply run the scripts to get the colorschemes applied. If you don't have git, then you should get it or your beard will regress .5 centimeters.

Code: Select all

git clone https://github.com/linuxbbq/xcolors/
In order to apply the themes after pulling them, you simply run them as you would a standard bash script.

Code: Select all

~/xcolors/fb_colors/<whicheveroneyouwanttoapply>
Sometimes fbconsoles and tmux/dvtm don't play nice with swapping colors live, so check them out from a standard console first for the best results.

I love you. Thanks my strong man :D

And yeah, I noticed the 'mux in fb doesn't like fbcolors' glitch, too. Only switching TTYs helps, for me at least.

I did come across powerline a while ago looking for/at something else, and I thought it looked cool. Seems like you can use it in tmux and vim and other stuff, which would be cool, but I haven't had a chance to see how hard it is to install. It's on the (growing) to-do list.

^ It's easy as just gitting (!) it from the right source. The configuration needs a bit of reading, but it is set up in less than 20 minutes. Really :)

On IRC it was mentioned to have a BBQ "Captcha"; 1. login to TTY 2. run tmux 3. make a scrot, so I did just that (was new to me):

Memory is a bit high (TTY2, i3 in TTY1)

^ Yeah you are right :)

So, here is the special spin for Launfal:
laundry.png
- towo 686 non-PAE kernel
- auto-login by default
- vim with airline (powerline is heavy on Python)
- pathogen + writers plugins
- spellchecker
- tmux powerline with mem/cpu bar and weather for Ohio ;)
- ntfs-3g for windows filesystem mounting
- mountpy for 'one-click' mounting
- lpr (new generation) for linux printing
- succubus theme
- irssi with xmpp (jabber) support

it's actually ready, just waiting for the 'OK'.

^^ That is tooooo sweet! Psyched doesn't even describe how stoked I am. I'm not writing another word until I get to drive this baby.

Thanks so much for taking the time. That looks awesome.
