trying a new base... so nothing to see here yet. Building up on something very stale, even more stale than Debian Stable. Just have to fix the problems with booting through dracut.

After opening my cake hole in the minimal software thread I decided to do what I suggested. It was a PIA limited in many ways and no fbgrab or anything so I took a picture with a my camera cause Im not building modules and Im done.

This is micro core 4.77 linux (had to go old new version not enough available) with fbterm, alsa, mpg123, links, tmux, mc, nano and whatever fonts that were available that looked decent. It still came in around 70mb but plenty of room on my 128mb stick.

sorry for the horrible pic.

^^ Thanks for the upload! That's great, but is micro core =/= tiny core? Or did they change names?

^ I think they did change the names a bit. It used to be micro was nox tiny was with xvesa with xorg available IIRC. Its a cool little quirky thing its just no rabbit hole I want to stay down.

Yeah I just did my homework: Tiny Core includes Micro Core components. If somebody really just needs the kernel and userland, no other unnecessary stuff, that's Micro. Then there is the normal Tiny Core and the full-fledged Tiny Core installation image. I love their approach, except of the fltk looks :)

be fun to get on it now I know how linux works a bit more.
