Re: jwm
Mb will remember. I ran into this. Has to do with default editor I think? Is assuming it's nano. Find it in the source and change that line. I'm on my phone now. I can look later

Re: jwm
^ and ^^ It's ncurses misbehaving, and it was ceni that spiked when not closed cleanly :) I guess we can only make a diff for the dependencies of nano/ceni/ranger and strace them. ceni by forcing her to spawn a process even the term is closed, and ranger by simply opening it. Though, we might try to disable img_previews or other stuff in the .config/ranger/... files, maybe there's a problem. Definitely not our fault.

in /etc/ranger/config/rifle.conf, find
IIRC, $EDITOR at one point was hardcoded as nano or some shit like that.
This is about the most I can offer here as far as help. Hopefully its this simple of a fix.
Code: Select all
#-------------------------------------------
# Misc
#-------------------------------------------
# Define the "editor" for text files as first action
mime ^text, label editor = "$EDITOR" -- "$@"
mime ^text, label pager = "$PAGER" -- "$@"
!mime ^text, label editor, ext xml|csv|tex|py|pl|rb|sh|php = "$EDITOR" -- "$@"
!mime ^text, label editor, ext xml|csv|tex|py|pl|rb|sh|php = "$PAGER" -- "$@

Re: jwm
clever. So if 'echo $EDITOR' does not show anything, it should be exported into .bashrc
export EDITOR=vi
for example. Same for PAGER
export PAGER=less
export EDITOR=vi
for example. Same for PAGER
export PAGER=less

Re: jwm
Customizing the window decos and the color scheme helps a lot. I don't quite understand why the dev doesn't pick a more eye-pleasing theme as default. Shrugz :)
