Thought I'd share some love for ratpoison. And Emacs.

tenk, that is superb! May I ask the color scheme your using? Nice tmux status bar and start page! I've been tinkering with the idea of creating my own as well. Kind of thinking of basing it somewhat off my blog.

Anyway, well done!

@wux, you get your notify.rb sorted? You should not need any extra ruby packages.

Code: Select all

# make sure dunst is working
notify-send test
# in weechat, use tab complete
/script load notify.rb
# or
/ruby load ruby/notify.rb
# this success message will display in dunst
/msg NickServ identify <password>

That's my startpage. At least I think you mean that.

@dkeg: I stole it from here, I think it's the "Time to trim yer beard". I don't remember if and how much I've mucked about with it though. :-)

Also, thank you all for your kind words, inspiration and resources.

^ @machinebacon: It's completely my own concoction. No js and bullshit, just a light html and css.

Haha, you fit in here! :) Do it yourself, without bullshit -- that's the BBQ feel!

nice scrot tenk, love the font and colours. i got one of those custom made, simple html and css startpages, too. except, wait, mine has jquery because i wanted to make shit move around because i was in my experimental phase. oh well. i got one searchbox to search google, youtube, imdb, discogs and bookdepository. never fucking use it but hey, it was cool to make :)

about time for an update...

^^ My startpage has been losing weight lately too, started way more bloated couple of years ago. Just wanted something with a few bookmarks.
And I have custom binds in Dwb for example "y searchterm" for youtube search and so on, so I have no need for boxes on the startpage.

And if someone is wondering about stuff in my scrot, here's a few details I forgot to mention:
Font: ProFont. The bitmap version, I don't care for much antialiasing. Music is Mpd and Ncmpcpp, irc is weechat. Emacs and of course Dwb in the shots too. Terminal emulator is Urxvt. Tmux for the right monitor. Irc is ssh from another box and music is in Tmux only to have a large (tty)clock visible in a convenient way. :-) Top left monitor is Conky. Stalonetray for the tray icons. Background is my own, stole the Cthulhu from a painting iirc. Same background image in the startpage too.

I use keywords for everything I need to search, no boxes either.

Not much has changed, but I thought I'd share some Ratpoison on a platter for a change.
There's some Conkeror, tmux, Weechat, Emacs (both terminal and gui-bloatness), tty-clock and homegrown playlist-script.

I use albumbler from time to time with mpd, and Ncmpcpp has some weird glitches in tmux.

Xcolors are my own, can post if needed. Font is Termsyn, or Termsynu.
Startpage in Conkeror is too an evolutionary product of my own project. You can see the difference from the last scrots I posted.

And I rotated my primary monitor too, much nicer to read the internets and pdf's with it now. Was a pain in the ass with open source radeon driver, but ultimately worth it.

Oh yes, beautiful. I'm really interested in your xcolors and ratpoisonrc, if you don't mind. :)

Looking nice, tenkainen! albumbler... never heard of it. Look interesting, though :D I'm gonna give it a try. Thanks!
