that looks nice arnold, well done! be sure to look at the documentary-thread (somewhere in /dev/null) if you feel like sharing links or getting ideas :)

Re: dwm
It is dwm, but I guess it is more a test of lord bacons kurwalinuks colors.
This is my old standard setup, antix mini-jwm version, without jwm.
so, dwm, urxvt, htop, iceweasel, and irssi
changed the colors in dwm a bit, or there would be no point in doing a scrot

Re: dwm
I had some more hardware issues (power switch) so just as well I have a source for parts. I also had some spare pocket money so purchased a small msata SSD and msata to pata adapter. Works great. Quirky but very likeable piece of hardware. Really great performance running LinuxBBQ Anorexia.

Re: dwm
^ the m2 with pata converter is a nice (fairly cheap) way to get ssd on and old machine, I am happy with the performance increase I've got now, from old machines.
even things like swap is a little better, and of course a super install of a BBQ spin and it's lightning quick

Re: dwm
^ thanks for mentioning that. I really want my SSD to be an interior drive rather than plugged by USB on the Portege. Checking the price now...
..gnutella..
Re: dwm
^^ I've always been reluctant to run swap on SSDs. Is it OK now? Partition or file?
^ they are cheap. Mine was less than US$10 and free shipping. Should be the perfect solution for you.
[edit] What about over-provisioning? I leave about 10% of unpartitioned space. Not sure if this is still 'best practice'

Re: dwm
^^ the m2's + IDE adaptors are tiny, takes up a fraction of the space of the old IDE drive on my Acer.
Protip, have to get the pins the right way around though - check for the 'non pin' orientation on the old drive :)
here's a pic or 2: and yes, that is superglue and tissue paper holding the cracks in the case together...
