Not really a screenshot, but @jankiel: https://github.com/lassekongo83/stilo-themes

I'm using this instead of Zukitre now. :)

^ I read somewhere that Gnome3 has an emacs keybindings mode (enabled via the gnome-tweak tool, I believe). Do you use it, Gekko?

^ It has and I tried it, but since I don't use only one computer I don't use it everyday. I prefer to keep it simple to reduce the stress of moving to different setups.

yeah, this is why at work we don't really have an aliases or super personalised. It'd be very confusing if I set one machine to use vim-shortcuts on bash...
my own personal ones are things I just don't do at work, like yt-d/l etc

Actually it looks really sleek. I like your wallpaper. Would you like to share it? :)

PS: I do not really see Ubuntu there. :P

^ Oh yeah, the theme I was using before was updated to support this Ubuntu version (my "fault": I filed a ticket to the author).

As for the wallpaper, here it is:

Thank you Manu. Your setup looks better than the default colorful theme even though I prefer Ubuntu's new look to the very outdated looking Ambiance theme. Or at least I never liked it on Gnome.

The new Ubuntu theme (Yaru) is not that bad actually. But grey with hints of blue is less invasive for my eyes.

^ One of these days I'm going to have to get a lesson from you on Gnome theming. There's so much I'm out of the loop on.
Btw, I F11'd that scrot to get an impression of how it'd look on my screen (same resolution as yours), and you're right about the font rendering being excellent.

I think Ubuntu had always the best font rendering.

I am hearing lots good things about Gnome lately. Maybe it is time to pay it a visit? It is years since last time. Damn what I have become lazy, I mean, a download, a cp to usb and you get all kinds of Gnomish stuff. Or is it just pure indifference?

Will try to pump up some energy and interest to check it out and give Debian a whirl. After the release of Bullseye of course. So I got about six months to find the aforementioned energy. :D

^ Meh, it is what it is. Now they've just outed version 40, signalling mid-life crisis, with fickleness to match. Gone back to horizontal workspace switching after users finally made sense of the vertical method, added more rounded corners to emphasize poor aliasing, and Mutter probably still has epilepsy. But hey, they've got trendy stock gestures now like the Mac did donkey years ago. Progress!! >_>

Taken last month.

^Very nice scrot, thanks. If I get the itch prematurely I will check out the new Ubuntu release that arrives soon.

Rounded corners? Blasphemers! :D

Now that has to be a premier looking at a scrot from Gutterslob and actually seeing a damn GUI. Looks good though and you do not even use proper mpv. :)
If that is Fedora and I think so, the font rendering looks just how it has to. It took them years when Ubuntu already had nice font rendering more than 10 years ago, another progress I guess.

But do not get fooled Vic, Gutterslob is still on 3.38 and he is correct about them. Now they will change to the old paradigm of a horizontal workspace like all normies.
Now what do they need the upper left corner for if there is no left dash anymore? The mouse travel will be insane, not that I care. I only use the keyboard for navigation anyway. On Gnome I never invited the hot corner to dance with my clit.

I'm back on Ubuntu LTS. Too lazy too keep up with 6 month upgrades of Fedora or daily updates for rolling/bleeding-edge distros. Here's a scrot taken yesterday after beating FF89's new UI into submission so that it blends with the rest of the desktop. Apologies for the blab forum showing in FF, as this is cross-posted from there;

Personally, I think it'd be better for some themer to create a gtk based on FF rather than trying to make FF conform to your GTK each time Mozilla has a bout of epilepsy. Sigh, if only FF opted for qt back when they had the chance. It's easier getting shit to blend uniformly on a Plasma desktop. Yeah, I'm one of those that won't install a qt app in a gtk based environment or vice-versa. I'm anal like that...

^ It's a X390. Considered modern (8th gen Intel CPU). Purchased late 2019. Replaced by the X13 last year, I believe.
