Re: i3
Arch with i3wm (800x600 because Vbox additions only half work)
Nub config with xfce4-terminal:
In VBox with xinit/systemd it boots as fast as Mint logs in, natively. So I thought the background fitting. :)

Re: i3
I didn't express that clearly - the time it takes for Mint to log in/out, Arch takes to boot completely. So Arch is hella fast (or Mint damn slow). ;)

^ Thank you sir. And I have my font as Monospace. I don't know what terminal you are using but I use URxvt and I just have the font set up in my .Xresources file!

Re: i3
Trying to get the full debian toolchain in Arch ... extra beard points.
(though outside the scrot, compton+i3 doesn't play nice with lxterminal...)

Re: i3
nice. I'm curious, what do you mean by not playing nice? I don't think I was using compton in my i3 days, but don't see what could be a problem. Lxterminal and compton issue? What happens when you swap with urxvt?
Work hard; Complain less
Re: i3
Well when I split the terminal vertically, the upper tile isn't transparent anymore (it sometimes also shows the wrong window in the background).
I've tried with urxvt, same issue there. When using the "fake" transparency w/o compton it works, but then I get tearing :(
