because I needed a break from today's writing session, I went back to hacking on fluxbox. Dudes, paletterx is way cool for getting the colors for fluxbox themes, but I'm thinking you already knew that. This is my latest attempt. Still using Wheezy. Maybe when this book is done, I'll play around in Sid land.

Just a basic haggis/fluxbox/solarized_dark setup.

Uhm, it has a few xterms, htop, pstree, and the fluxbox menus torn apart, to show what it has in it.
The fluxbox theme, or "style" is doty, it is in the "fluxbox-themes-antix" package, if someone needs some fluxbox themes.

Fluxbox on Slackware 14.1

tin-black theme, dekeg's iron xcolors. It really looks nice after I used the ansi-universal dircolors I found somewhere.

Going through hardware here at work, discovered I still had a Slack-box. Made some updates, used the Dr's "elkmountain" colors...

Agreed! Nice clean, refreshing feeling. (And not only because you're using elkmountain ;)

Yeah, I'm all over the place with colors, but having fun experimenting with fluxbox on OpenBSD this morning. Fluxbox theme is "blue flower"...

Another scrot after some time playing when I should be writing. Grayscaled a retro-style wallpaper, added the Tin_Dark fluxbox style and found a monochrome Xcolor that looks sharp.

Here's the result.

I like it, I have a weakness for fluxbox.

Bwahahaha! After seeing the nice subtle colours of Launfal, Bones and Rusty's desktops on this page I thought I'd add a gaudy, garish eyesore to wakeup the senses. The theme is one I created using a combo of Debian Dark and MerleyKay that I call LinuxBBQ Orange. The menu is my handmade Slackware menu obviously changed for BBQ. The wallpaper reminds me of Indonesia, maybe Mt Bromo, except the storms make things more interesting than the boring volcanoes here.

Thanks guys. I'm running it as a test for my RYO Jessie with Fluxbox. I wanted to see whether the theme I created stood out in colour. Sometimes I just get tired of 50 shades of gray themes and pastel colours. I still like black, blue and gray but I want it with a colour that really pops and is in your face on DEs and stacking WMs.

make dat lxterminal colors reddish then ;)
/troll-off

to whom it may concern: IIRC lxterminal has no customization options for the text color - might be different today tho'
