Xfce

cwm missed it by this much (Maxwell Smart fingers), so back with the mouse. Well, with the bird, I didn't want to give up this theme yet:D I couldn't find a 1px xfwm4 theme so I made one (inactive border=bg_color, active=selected_bg_color). Compton for shadows, xfce's are too heavy, and symlinking the weather icons to ACYL for extra gloss.

Thanks gents. Running it now without xfdesktop and xfsession, just xfsettingsd, xfce4-panel, xfnotifyd and xfwm4. That's giving me a root menu, application switcher (Alt+Tab by default, and you can theme the popup window in gtkrc-2.0), keyboard shortcuts for launching applications and manipulating windows, notifications and the panel widgets while still keeping the RAM usage low. I'm sold.

Surely we need Xfce scrots, if we have Gnome 3 and MATE! Bloated up with compositing!

Geez, yeah, it took up that whole panel, and then I went and added env-info. Mega-bloat! :D

^ It dresses up Xfce and LXDE nicely, otherwise the default choices kinda suck.

Remember this one? This was what convinced me that Xfce didn't have to suck.

Yes, I still have it running on one of the 42 test machines. It has survived all of its updates. It's a little bloated because it has 37 window managers installed over the gay mouse.
