So you close via right-click on the panel, or right-click on the deco or with keybinds? Just curious :)

Makes sense, as XFCE now has the aerosnappish behaviour :) Ever thought of running another WM in XFCE? :)

I haven't, that's not a bad idea! Perhaps I'll see if I can get cwm to run as WM.

cwm works ok with xfce, and jwm does too

If you look in

Code: Select all

/etc/xdg/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-session.xml
replace xfwm with cwm, and it is done

I've replaced xfwm with openbox once, the window controls in the task bar got wonky, and it gave lots of xsession errors (but half of them went away with the above .xml fix). Though if you use keybinds (and limit .xsession-errors)...

IIRC #!'s XFCE version had a kind of hybrid Openbox session in XFCE, years ago.

Oh yes I'm aware. I get the eye from my own goons over running a desktop like this. It might interest you to know that ALL of my machines run XFCE 4 and ALL of them have EXACTLY the same desktop layouts. In that area, I am truly boring.

I've found that I prefer having the bells and whistles of XFCE on my laptop, and using small WMs (in my case, mostly cwm) on the desktop. Still my favorite full-featured DE.

SubLinux

Unread post by p120d16y » Sat Jun 14, 2014 7:02 am

After a bit of tinkering I've gotten Subsentient's SubLinux source-based distro installed and Pidsley has been bitching at me all night about taking some screenshots, so here it is. A swift custom distro running epoch init system, and I quite like what he's done with it. He was very helpful stepping me through the text-based installer, updating bugfixes, etc.

Here she is. Maybe I should grab some more wallpapers, tinker, and take more later.

Sorry for not posting in the XFCE thread. I was pretty tired last night and saw only XFCE (La souris) and thought "What the hell is that?" so I made a new thread. I tried merging it there but, we can't delete thread.
