Diddy and I were on irc last night and we got to looking for wallpapers. We both found (different) ones we really liked.

So, I decided to change my theme to go with it. I really like it overall, but I can't see a thing in the irssi and htop status lines - the text is almost invisible against the background. I am not experienced at theming, so I really have no idea how to make small changes to a theme that I 99% love. Does anyone have a tip as to what setting I should fiddle with to only affect those status bars?

Tim

run "dkeger" and choose a theme
to find themes, open "ranger" and navigate to /home/$USER/xcolors/xcolor_visual

You also want to edit ~/.Xresources and fine-tune

URxvt*shading:

After saving, run

xrdb -merge .Xresources

and open a new terminal

Thanks, machinebacon. Yes, dkeger was what I used to select that theme. I will look at your other tips to try to make adjustments.

Nice looking, Tim. I'll have to get some decent scrot under ratpoison with my new bald eagle wall. Still doesn't feel that special, though. :)

Bones, how do you get the windows to NOT cover the entire background? That is cool.

Alt+t will change from tiling to stacking layout on a window. ;)

After much hacking, a Bowlful of Slack with spectrwm:

NOTE: As I have a Slackware 14.1 (32-bit) disk set here at work, I did cheat some, and installed several packages from disks, in addition to SlackBuilds.
