^ Well done - installing a working X is like:

- startx
- .... - oh, libxrender missing
- slackpkg install libxrender
- startx
- .... - ah nearly! libxinerama missing
- slackpkg install libxinerama
- startx
- .... - ahum, damned, libX11kb missing
- slackpkg install libX11kb -- huh, not found -- google -- ... - slackpkg install xproto
- startx
- .... - ah fuck, of course! slackpkg install xinit
- startx
- GNAH! libutempter?!
...

and so goes it :)

It's funny how we used to be able to do real stuff with rudimentary computers, but now we can't. -- ratcheer

@Alad: that was good :)

Thanks! No, just my go-to .Xresources file, and stock spectrwm.

damned, did I package the wrong env-info? :/ Usually it (I mean, the BBQ version, not the pidsley upstream version) shows the used xcolors...

No worries, it's really the gtk/qt green themes/icons (Mint/Manjaro/SUSE) that rub me wrong, not so bad in l337 window manager/framebuffer mode! ;)

Not really directly related to SpectrWM, but that is the WM I am using mostly in X.

So, actually this should be about Webkit in Emacs. Got the instructions from emacswiki. Greetings to the lazycat at Deepin. It works well (though a slightly tiny little bit slow, but that is the nature of it)

^ If you're in X anyway - yes ;)

I must add that you need python-qt5, python-xlib and "pip install epc" -- I also added python-qt5.webkit (no idea if it is needed), so it makes for around 40MB+ download.

The good thing is that with the next Emacs version there's eww integrated, so at least a 'real' solution for text browsing (not a fan of w3m here!)

just two windows with env-info and the old bbq menu.

the xcolors are a 1:1 extraction, didn't need to manipulate anything. looks great in fb, too.
