KDE Netbook looks like this:

Running it on a NEC VersaPro with 1GB RAM and 1GHz CPU, and cannot really complain.

^ Not bad at all.

Are NEC pc's any good nowadays? I recall that they were decent back in the day, but they are hard to find in this day and age, especially in northern Europe.

I just bought this second-hand because it weighs 1kg and I was curious about the LED display on this. It's OK if you get it for ~30EUR or so in the setup I have it. Works perfectly fine with one of the lighter systems (although, even this KDE plus system D configuration is not laggy).
The VersaPro is something like a competitor to the Toughbook (which I also have, a Panasonic CF-T5). Out of the box the Panasonic works a bit better wrt. the network adapter, but the VersaPro has an SD slot and 3x USB ports. Really depends on what you expect a netbook to do. Quality-wise it is good. Only the space button is a bit small and needs more hammering than on other netbooks I tried.

So, this is KDE's newest Plasma 5 on Fedora 22 (netinstall, and then heavy dnf'ing)

KDE has never been so snappy. To be honest, it's fucking beautiful to work with. GUI done right.

Just noticed I had the wrong icon theme set. Nevermind, here's how the alternative menu looks like :)

^ Oh I do like the look of this, I still haven't tried Plasma yet. Will take a peak at it soon, in the weekend maybe :D

^ It's pretty much default :) I just picked a darker theme (and right now I am wiping the Fedora partition to install something else tonight) :D
