Very nice, as always, dkeg. Loving the light colours.

Dat solarized look... very nice, as always, dkeg! (I can't for the life of me figure out what the difference between pms and mps is. I love it though, np1 has some fantastic stuff.)

Thank you all.

Doc, mps and pms are the same thing. IIRC his hand was 'forced' to change as there is an existing pms name in debian land. There is also a pleer add on for chrome/chromium. pleer is the music repo for mps.

I have fallen in love with Done! The last several mornings I have woken up and looked over my left shoulder to my nightstand, and there covered with the remains of starlight (or is it dust? I need to vacuum this place...) and lovingly smattered with some stickers from GNU and EFF, is my T410, meekly waiting for me to boot up Done. Ah yessss.... I sing a little ditty to my Thinkpad every morning as that delightful hum reverbs through the room and I am welcomed with that heavenly prompt,

Code: Select all

LinuxBBQ Done t410 tty1
jaroslav login:
I almost tear up thinking of it... Anyhow, I have moved from bspwm to 2bwm, as the keybindings are similar enough and it almost feels like there is less bloat without sxhkd. The otherworldly Martian wall hails from that wonderful, delightful, positively splendid wallpaper resource that The Incredible Mr. Bones linked to on the /dev/null/Random Internet Thread.

Cheers!

Thanks, stark! Like rho mentioned, this is (unbelievably!) not a picture from our dear planet, but rather from the Syrtis Major Planum on Mars. The reason the colour seems so foreign from what we usually envision when we think of that planet is because here the Early Noachian bedrock is exposed to the elements! According to planetary geologist Alfred McEwen at the University of Arizona,
This region exposes Early Noachian bedrock, more than 4 billion years old, and contains a diversity of hydrated minerals. This would be an excellent place to explore early Mars, when the environment may have been conducive to life.

HiRISE images will help determine if this spot is sufficiently safe for landing--not too many boulders or steep slopes. If it is safe, it may be considered for the 2011 Mars Science Laboratory or the 2018 rovers from Europe and the United States.
You can check it out topographically on Google Mars here!

Little Wednesday scrot action. And in honor of the cold.
I didn't feel like d-loading the huge amount required for ffmpeg, so I'll be old fashion and just post a static image. Nothing new except colors (a bit inspired), wall of course, and changed and tidied up the bar. Font is gohufont.

@dkeg I feel the need to lick that scrot :D Looking really nice and slick colors! Scrots are never old fashioned, specially not yours ;)

I just wanted to see how people work / use their desktop :)

How about byzanz ? You can record your desktop in Gif, then upload it to Gfycat for a webm ( also has mp4 )

byzanz usage:
byzanz-record -x XOFFSET -y YOFFSET -w WIDTH -h HEIGHT -d TIME desktop.gif

recordmydesktop is also used by this great tool: https://github.com/Bruce-Connor/camcorder.el

(I plan to use that for my upcoming Emacs talk)

Thanks all. No, I love it. Would like to particiapate. I think it also is interesting. And Stark thanks for the suggestion(s), but I just can't do it. girlstreamer, gvfs, gtk-3, fuck that. I have a gnome env on a different partition with all that shit.

Code: Select all

>> get -s recordmydesktop
[sudo] password for dkeg:

Conf recordmydesktop (0.3.8.1+svn602-1+b1 Debian:unstable [i386]
Now, that's what I'm talking about. Thanks! And thanks GP. I'll check 'em out. Can't wait for Friday! Woohoo! Of course, I just did all the fun stuff.

@rho Understood ;)

@machinebacon Apologies, I should've checked more thoroughly. Didn't knew recordmydesktop was that light!

@dkeg I apologize, I only checked out that page and aur so I thought it wouldn't be so heavy as ffmpeg :( ( really stupid of me )

Well anyway, I look forward to see how you guys work :)
