wmx

Unread post by pidsley » Fri Apr 04, 2014 9:37 pm

CRUX box gets a new kernel and a new window manager. I might have to respin "Sideways" and add this one -- it's like an enhanced version of wm2. Adds multiple desktops, some keyboard commands, a configurable menu (using the ~/.wmx directory; this also explains why flwm uses the same directory for its menu) more options in config.h and even some run-time config options. It like it.

Very interesting. I really like wm2, but I'll go with this one on Coal just to try out the differences.

Ouch, reminds me I still have to put this on Coal.
By the way, I really LOVE that King Crimson's record! (and Islands as well)

pidsley, I think respinning Sideways makes sense :) This is a clever WM, probably it has incorporated the 'recommends' of wm2 (especially the workspace switch sounds interesting!)

More sideways action with wmx, based on wm2. Featured in Zijwaarts:

^ I think I'm done! Yeah, I think I did change some xcolors on the early scrots, but then I got lazy, just like a true slacker! Let me know if anything is missing.

YES! I just saw the screenshot section and the yellow dot on "wmx", and I immediately thought of you Pidsley :) (without reading who posted last).
Zijwaarts has probably always been my favourite spin. Thank you for reviving the thread Pids +1 Now I need to find the iso again, it is arround my HD, somewhere.

cheers

If you try to upgrade it, you may need to change the siduction sources. Use the list from a recent spin (I used Bork) or ask and I'll give you the list that worked.

Also put xserver-xorg-core on hold for now (if you haven't already done that.)
