euclid-wm

Unread post by bones » Tue Apr 08, 2014 10:19 pm

This one didn't seem to get much attention when it was released; LinuxBBQ Stack, featuring euclid-wm (pre-Spring 2014 series). After trying it out for a couple of days, I find that it damn near perfectly suits my needs, OOTB. It combines many things that I like about other WMs, and the keybinds make sense.

^ A good reminder to "try the untried," as Ivan would say. Each time I think I have found a great WM, and then I try yet another one, and find it more to my liking than the last one: i3 is great, but needs tweaking to make perfect (axe the title bars, etc.); catwm was too crashy; still very fond of herbstluftwm, larswm, monsterwm, echinus, but liking euclid even more than these. The minimalism of euclid is on par with a fb/tmux session, but with the benefit of being able to use X apps, of course.

I used that in my sig. Actually it was a copy from our great Wiki, the BBQ philosophy, the original author of our bible is maybe Rho. :)

The wiki is always a good read, and Rho is a talented writer, to be sure. So many lolz. :)
