Notice how almost all of the minimal stackers are based on evilwm (1999) and aewm (1998), and both aewm and evilwm come from 9wm (1994)? Most of the tilers come from dwm (2006), by wmii (2005) and ion (2000).

Very interesting, really. The evolution of many projects from 9wm or dwm makes sense, as Xlib as a singular dependency makes the process of using them as a springboard for ideas really simple. ion, unfortunately, has been mired in politics...most of which I find totally senseless. As ideas have derived from these, they take drastically different directions. Some add new libs and features, and others take a reductionist approach. It's amazing how many projects have been launched in about a 15 year span, for certain.

Also, really great work you're doing on putting Cream together.
